Hey, guys is Deeparaya sacrilegious? The Perak mufti seems to think so. "Haram merayakan perayaan orang-orang kafir"? What the hell is that supposed to mean? There's nothing wrong with celebrating Hari Raya and Deepavali at the same time! Calling the joint celebration Deeparaya is simply a matter of language! What's the problem? If you mixed the ceremonies together, such as a Muslim making floral patterns with rice to praise Allah (although I don't see the harm in that, but it's just an example), then, yes, I can see why this is justified. But just join two words together for simplicity, and suddenly it's haram? WTF? Apparently the mufti is not alone. Sometimes it just makes you wonder what brains these guys have... Malaysia - to whom does it belong? To Malaysians. But who are Malaysians? I hope I am, Mr Speaker, Sir. BEEF!!!!! Not that I dislike Hindus or anything, but IMO, beef is superior. Ask yourself, why is the Big Mac made of beef? Because it TASTES BETTER. Pork is good too, but I prefer beef. Of course, there are times when beef disgusts me too. It depends on how it's cooked and what sauce it's cooked in. Malaysia - to whom does it belong? To Malaysians. But who are Malaysians? Chicken's all right, but I still prefer beef. I ate a steak at Victoria Station (the restaurant, not the Tube station, sadly) today. (Speaking of which, I wonder why they have signs referring to New York when the original Victoria Station is in London.) Anyway, beef rocks. One of the odd things about beef is that depending on how it's cooked and eaten, it tastes different. Just to take examples from McDonald's, compare the taste of a Big Mac, Double Cheeseburger and Quarter Pounder. They all taste different (albeit the Quarter Pounder and Double Cheeseburger do taste a bit similar). And they're all different from most of the ways my mother prepares beef, which is a different story altogether. Malaysia - to whom does it belong? To Malaysians. But who are Malaysians?
